How it works

Three things, kept separate

Age, stage and skills are linked, but they are never squeezed into one number.

Age band

Chooses which skills are right for the age. An under-5 is judged on under-5 play, never on what a teenager can do.

Stage in each sport

Foundation, Developing or Performance, set separately for every sport. Strong in football and still starting in the pool is completely normal.

Skill profile

Individual skills, each rated out of ten within the current stage. No overall number, so a weaker area is never hidden behind a strong one.

Uneven is normal

One child, three sports, three stages

Our fictional four-year-old, Mila, is at the top of the under-5 football stage, and still at Foundation in the pool. Her swimming strokes show as “not assessed at this age band”, never as zero. Each sport tells its own story.

A simple summary

What is going well, the next focus and the coach’s next goal, in a couple of lines.

Every skill, if you want it

Open any area to see each skill, when it was last seen, and what the rating means.

Progress over time

A history for each skill. When a child moves up a stage, earlier ratings are kept and the change of scale is shown.

Honest about readiness

Before any move up, the evidence will be shown: what is strong, what is still needed and the next targets.

Coaches decide, not numbers

A 10/10 will never move a child up on its own. A move up will always be a coaching decision, checked by a second coach.

A clean, printable report for each child, covering every sport they play.

Private by design

Your child’s record stays between you and PURE

Accounts will be by invitation only, one per family, with sign-in checked on our server.
A family will see only its own children, and coaches only the groups they coach.
Height and similar details will appear only if the family chooses. Nationality, background and appearance will never be part of any rating.
Session behaviours such as focus and effort will be shown for encouragement, never used to rank children.
